Skyaid Revenue and Expenses for next
two years updated
10/12/02
We need a bank account soon.
In order to get a bank
account, we need an IRS #
In order to get an IRS # we need to fill out a 2
year 'plan'
Doubt that we will ever see the following minimums or maximums.
Tentative summary for IRS: Skyaid
$3 million/year.
The dollar amounts are just guesses
for 2 years
REVENUE -------- $3 min. to 100 million max
--------------------------------------
Foundations 1-5 $2
to $50 million
Philanthropists 3-10
$5 to $20 million

REVENUE -------- $3 min. to 100 million max
--------------------------------------
Foundations 1-5 $2
to $50 million
Philanthropists 3-10
$5 to $20 million
People
of 'high net worth' who want to give to a good cause, and perhaps save their own
lives
Partners 2-10 $0.2
to $10 million
Examples;
American Medical Response, AED manufacturers, etc.
Partners are able to
see that Skyaid Watch and later the Skycar can increase their business
Communities 2-10
$0.5 to $20 million
Fund raising by
communities/cities to improve chance of surviving medical emergencies
EXPENSES ----- $ 2.7 min. to 20 million
max.--------------------------------
1) Skyaid Watch {$
0.1 to 1 million}
Skyaid Watch
developed by a single watch manufacturer with their own funds ($0.1 million)
OR Skyaid Watch developed by several manufacturers
- but Skyaid coordinates
the effort so that they are compatible ($0.3 million)
OR Skyaid Watch development supported by Skyaid ($ 1 million)
2) Skycar {$0.1
to 10 million}
6 passenger version is totally developed
by Moller International ($0.1 million)
OR Skyaid helps fund the development of Xantus and/or M600 ($3 million)
OR Skyaid helps fund the ultra-safe versions of Skycar and/or Xantus
Ultra-safe development is
done at low cost via open source software
-
similar to Linux - perhaps $5 million
OR Ultra-safe development is done in India - 3,000 man years @ $90K each
= $270 million over 5 years
note: corrected the cost per man-year from $20K on 9/07/00
3) Certification
{$2
million+}
1st phase - US certification of
conventional VTOL $2 million
- based on estimates received by
Jack Allison – note: this may be funded directly by Moller
2nd phase - US certification of ultra-safe version $4 million - years 3+
3rd phase - US certification for high-speed operation in urban environment
OR Non-US certification/approval first (expected to take much less time
and be much less expensive)
4) Setup US 7x24 call center {$0.1
to 2 million}
Apparently there are many already in
operation in the US. Need to select one $0.1 million
OR Set up Skyaid Watch operation outside of the US
- perhaps having to implement
other systems such as radio, 9-1-1, hospitals,
5) Create translation system to connect Skyaid Watch to 9-1-1
{$0.2 to 1.0 million}
Gets Skyaid Watch requests and calls the
appropriate 9-1-1 service.
Recalls name of owner, previous calls, owner's typical location, his medical
history, etc.
System to call 9-1-1 appears to require a human in-the loop at this time.
May want to initiate an effort to reduce costs and delays by developing an
all-electronic system
6) Create a microphone to detect a beeping Skyaid Watch {$0
to 0.2 million
Expect that we can create a high-tech
microphone to detect the Skyaid Watch beep
from 500' thru clear air and maybe from 100' if there is a closed door/wall in
the way.
This microphone would help the EMT to locate the victim.
This high-tech microphone could be developed totally on a manufacturer's own
funds
OR Skyaid may need to support the development {$0.2 million}
This is an optional
project – does not appear to be vital for success of Skyaid
7) Ongoing Conferences /
Coordination with all stakeholders {$0.2
to 1.0 million}
EMT organizations - perhaps partnering
with $ 1 billion AMR (American Medical Response)
Medical organizations
- see list of possible sponsors @ http://www.skyaid.org/potential_endorsing_organizations.htm
Local Governments both in US and around the world
Large donors
8) Fundraising {$0.2
- 0.4 million}
Press releases
Video of Skyaid in action
Video of Skyaid Watch in action
Finding and wooing many high-net worth donors - anywhere around the world
Grant proposals to 2-10 large foundation
9) Pay participants (salary) {$0.5
to $2 million}
Probably use a head-hunter to find and
evaluate candidates - typical cost of 1/3 man year
Anticipate core participants (not covered above) of 5-10 people
Anticipate having 10-50 paid participants around the world
part-time/telecommuting
probably paid on a task
basis
10) Office expense, publicity, travel {$0.3
to $1 million}
Office space may be donated
