Possible Military Uses of Skycar

Back in 1993 I had identified the military uses of the skycar could include the following:

Flying jeep: 0-6 passengers + payload
Search and Rescue: can land for pickup in 60 seconds from 20,000 feet *
Radio relay: can loiter at 20,000 feet for > 4 hours
Observation platform - IR, night vision, synthetic aperture radar
Provide remote targeting for laser guided weapons
Decoy - enemy wastes missiles - skycar can dodge many **
Jam or knock out enemy communications
Navy Fleet Support

Only the items with * or ** above is the Skycar the only possible solution.

In all other cases there are other solutions - not as good mind you, but at least they exist.

** most missiles should not be able to detect the Skycar
1) it has a very small thermal signature
2) it has a very small radar cross section

However, my estimation back in 1989 showed that the Skycar would be able to "jink" out of the way of the way. The skycar is able to "jump" 20 feet in less than 1 second, which is a far faster reaction time than virtually all missiles. Thus the missile would go thru the spot where the Skycar had been just 1 second before. In order to attract missiles, the Skycar would have to purposely add a heat source to be detected by one type of missile, and some radar reflectors to attract other types of missiles.
