Skycar Introduction ideas added
12/10/00
People would be reluctant to ride in a 1000' tall roller coaster,
but rarely have problems riding in a 1000' tall elevator.
- Darken the Skycar canopy to reduce awareness of height, weather, etc.
reminder - people are uncomfortable in glass walled elevators
- Minimize acceleration, noise (i.e. like an elevator)
- Let people read about Skycars before taking a ride - encourage rides by
reporters
- Encourage Skycars rides near amusement parks - perhaps ride to/from the
airport
- Lower the barriers to initial users
* monthly rental
* provide all maintenance and training - thus easing airline
ownership
- Provide Skycars at little or no cost for use
during/after natural disasters
(floods, storms, etc.)
- Encourage organizations that will benefit the most:
* Airlines
* military
* police
* TV news
* emergency medical
* regions with highly congested traffic
* regions which wanted a high-speed rail system (Skycar cost
1/10 as much as high speed rail)
* resorts, lodge, casinos, etc. which want to increase their
business
* islands or isolated regions which want to increase their accessibility
* same-day parcel delivery (between FedEx distribution
facilities)
- Encourage individuals that will benefit the most:
* people who can not drive (blind, elderly, disabled, drunk,
etc.)
* people whose time is very valuable, such as - lawyers,
doctors, CEOs, salesmen,
